The events of World War II have sustained the ‘war film’ genre through two generations, with new films each year still continuing to add new insights and interpretations. Oscar-winning films, such as “Schindler’s List” and the newer films “The Reader” and “The Boy in Striped Pajamas,” took the unorthodox step of viewing the war’s human costs through German eyes. As more films explore the rich dramatic palate of moral confusion in which individuals were sometimes caught, forced to make soul-searching choices, Color of Truth explores whether star-crossed love can save souls lost in the fog of war.
We owe unending thanks to all the people who joined our adventure and worked on this film, many of whom made sacrifices so that this project could become a reality. A very special thanks is owed to Ron Kalish, editor of picture and sound on many of Woody Allen’s films and of Arthur Miller’s Emmy-winning “Playing for Time,” a related story of the Auschwitz orchestra, for his guidance as supervising editor.
